who am i?
[just another asian ashley on the internet]
I am a 22 year old Korean-American filmmaker and artist based in the Central Coast of California.
Recently, I graduated from the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Visual Media and Cultural Studies. The major is for students who want to study something more niche than what is offered or combine different fields–I spent my three years in the major taking classes that would help me as a filmmaker or simply interested me because there was no film program offered.

While film is my main area of creativity and work now, I don’t limit myself to one creative box. I am also a musical, visual, literary, and continually expanding artist. The sky is the limit!

On top of my creativity, I have always been a huge advocate for social and environmental justice. I believe that if people can understand each other just a little bit more and learn empathy, our world can change drastically for the better. As an artist, I see it as my responsibility to serve as a vessel and bridge for this.
My work is always fuelled by a desire for human connection, either between myself and the audience or between audience members.
